Winthrop Eagles

The Winthrop University is an American Public four year liberal arts college in Rock Hill. The University is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and competes on the Division 1 level. The Winthrop Eagles basketball team represents the University of Winthrop. They compete in the Big South Conference. The current coach of the team is Randy Peele. The home arena where team playing home game at Winthrop Coliseum. The nickname of the team is Eagles and the colors of the team are garnet and gold.

The Winthrop has been appeared in nine NCAA tournaments dating back to the 1999 season. The team has achieved its biggest success in 2007. They have won the Big South regular season championship, after winning the big south tournament the Eagles were given no 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. The Winthrop has become the first Big South basketball team to win an NCAA tournament game.

The 2009-10 the men’s team will represents the University of Winthrop eagles. The fane are excited to see their games live in the basketball court.
