UTEP Miners

The Utep Miners is the sports team of the University of Texas at El Paso. They are the member of the Western Athletic Conference. The Utep Miners men’s basketball team is representing the University of Utep Miners. The Utep Miners are the famous as the only team in Texas to win NCAA men’s basketball championship. The men’s team is an NCAA Division 1 college basketball team. They are competing in the Conference USA.

The head coach of the team us Tony Barbee and the colors of the team are orange and blue. The team is playing its home games at the Don Haskins Center and the nickname of the team is Miners. The team has won the 1966 NCAA men’s Division 1 basketball tournament. The most important victory of the basketball team was when they achieved the 72-65 over Kentucky in College Park, Maryland. They also marked the first time with five African-American starters won a title game. The Miners have appeared in sixteen NCAA tournaments and have appeared in National champions in 1966.

In 2009-10 seasons the men’s team is representing the University of Utep Miners. The fans are excited to watch their favorite team live.
