St. Joseph's Hawks

The Saint Joseph’s hawks are the Athletic teams at Saint Joseph’s University. The Hawks are competing in the Division 1 in the NCAA and the Philadelphia Big 5. They teams has 20 varsity sports I Division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and they are the part of the Atlantic Ten Conference. The school has commonly known for its Men’s basketball team and the Hawks became the school’s mascot in 1929.  The first flapped its wings as a basketball game in 1956 in a win over La Salle University.

The arena of the basket ball is Hagan Arena and the Palestra and the colors of the team are crimson and grey. At the Saint Joseph’s there are 20 varsity in which 10 men and 10 women and 17 intramural. The Hawks men’s basketball team participates in the Atlantic 10 Conference and their home courts are the Hagan Arena. The Men’s basket ball is very popular at Saint Joseph’s University and they have competed in 19 NCAA Tournaments in different years.

The rivals are the La Salle University Explorers and the main rivals have been the Villanova University and the Temple University. The 2010 event will be held on 6th March at the location of Michael J. Hagan Arena Philadelphia, PA.. The fans are always called them “the hawks will never die”, and they are excited to see the winner of this season.
