The Kentucky Wildcats are the intercollegiate athletic squads of the men’s and women’s. It represents the University of Kentucky (UK). It is a founding member of the Southeastern Conference. The Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team is representing the University of Kentucky. The college basketball is the winningest program in the history.  The team has also leads the NCAA in NCAA tournament appearances.

The team has also won the National Invitation tournament and has played in 49 NCAA tournaments. The head coach of the team is John Calipari, he is playing since one year. The colors of the teams are blue and white. The Wildcats are playing their home games in Rupp Arena. The first home court of the Wildcats was known as “the Gymnasium”. The men’s team has earned a total of seven NCAA Men’s Division1 Basketball championships. The Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball also known as the Lady Kats represents the University of Kentucky. The head coach is Matthew Mitchell. The home arena is Memorial Coliseum. The team has won SEC women’s basketball tournament in 1982.

The 2009-10 men’s team is representing the University of Kentucky. They are playing under the current coach. During this season the team became the first men’s basketball program to reach 2,000 wins.
