Dayton Flyers

The Dayton Flyers is the team name of University of  Dayton’s which is the intercollegiate athletics teams playing out of Daytona, Ohio. They participated at the NCAA Division 1 level. The University came in No. 48 overall NCAA basketball teams. The name is a reference and homage to Daytonians Orville and Wilbur Wright. The Flyers home arena is the University of Dayton Arena. The Rudy flyer is the mascot of the Flyers, he has dressed in pilots clothing and also wear a scarf and goggles. Two or three students wear this dress every year.

The Flyers teams always enjoy the considerable support of their energized fans. The student fans base is known as the “Red Scare” which provides the support for the flyers during basketball games. The rivals of the Flyers from the regional school are Xavier, Cincinnati and Miami University.  The stadium of football is Welcome Stadium and the colors of the team are red and Columbia blue.

In a current ranking, ESPN has created an all time ranking of college basketball programs which has used the number of stats and predictors. The Athletics director is Tim Wabler. . The 2010 event will be held on February 27th and March 6th at the University of Daytona Arena OH.   The fans are so excited the see the 2010 winner of the Flyer.
