Sports Tickets and Summer Time Events

Hope everyone is having a great Summer thus far and getting out and seeing some sporting events and also some concerts. Major League Baseball is in full swing and almost to their half way point and the All Star Break. The World Cup is getting down to their final eight and final four teams and will soon have their championship played in South Africa. NFL and NCAA Football is just around the corner and tickets are selling left and right for both of those events.

So what events have you made it to so far? Are you paying less for your tickets with the down economy etc? It’s very easy to get into Wrigley Field to watch a Cubs game right now as ticket prices have dropped as the team has struggled. Remember, buy the week of the game or concert and almost every time you will be paying less than face value. An example of that was a few weeks ago when the White Sox visited Wrigley Field to take on the Cubs. It was right after the Blackhawks had just won the Stanley Cup and baseball was the only show in town yet I sold multiple tickets for $20 bucks a pop and even gave away four of them to a friend.

Right now the secondary market for baseball tickets is a buyers market no doubt about it. For the best deals, head on over to Ticket City and take a look at their current inventory. While you are there, it’s never to early to check out their NFL Tickets and College Football Tickets either.

College Football Ticket Specials

It’s that time of year where college universities and their ticket offices are extremely busy. Why you ask? Because it is time for all their donors and season ticket holders to pay their dues for the upcoming season in the fall. You are probably asking why I would be mentioning this? Well because, it’s one of the best times to purchase football tickets.

I know a lot of fans locally that have season tickets for the respected teams. Most of them have to make a large donation to the university just to have access to purchase their season tickets. Yep, every year we donate money just to purchase tickets…

So you have the average fan paying from $100 bucks all the way into the $x,xxx and then even more for the actual tickets. It’s quite a while before the kickoff of the 2012 season and most fans look to move their extra tickets or tickets to games they won’t be attending now to help out with the costs. It’s the perfect time if you have the funds available to do get your tickets locked up right now.

Check out the early inventory for college football tickets over at Ticket City. I am sure you will be able to find some great deals.

Notre Dame BCS National Championship Ticket Prices

With Notre Dame beating USC on Saturday night and finishing up their undefeated regular season, BCS National Championship Ticket prices sky rocked over the weekend. The game will be played down in Miami so you factor in great weather and a big nation wide traveling base for the Irish and you can see why ticket prices on the secondary market have jumped up 30-40% in most cases in the last four days.

So fans of Alabama and Georgia and wondering what prices will be like once the SEC championship is over. Both of those teams have a great fan base that will travel especially to Miami as it’s within driving distance to keep some costs down. I could see buy ins for this game easily going over the $2000 for upper level seats in the corners. If you are hoping to score some seats in the lower level get ready to spend $2500-$3000 minimum no matter if it is Alabama or Georgia facing off against Notre Dame.

So what do I recommend if you want to attend the game? I would buy your tickets ASAP if you want tickets in hand before you head to Miami. However, if you want to gamble a little bit and buy outside the stadium right before kick off (miss the pregame festivities) you will be able to save a good chunk of money. Do your self a favor though, buy early and enjoy some time down in Sunny Florida and on South Beach. It’s going to be one hell of a game so make sure you are there to witness it.
