Vick takes over starting quarterback post in Eagles from Kolb
Looks like luck is now on the side of disgraced National Football League star quarterback Michael Vick. The Philadelphia Eagles has recently made a public announcement placing Vick as the team's starting quarterback in the new NFL season. Eagles coach Andy Reid explained the team decided to make Vick a starter since they believe he is one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL today. Reid said the way Vick is playing today which is superb they have no choice but to make him a starter in the team. The decision to promote him as a starter is a great reward for Vick who had been aiming to be back on top of the NFL after he got imprisoned earlier for animal cruelty. Vick said now that he is a starter he felt honored but pressured at the same time. The Eagles quarterback said he will just give it his all to bring success to the team in the 2010 NFL season. With Vick moving to become the team's starter, Eagles top quarterback Kevin Kolb will now take the supporting role from the bench. The Eagles said aside from playing great, the team decided to make Vick as a stater since Kolb is not yet 100 percent okay as he is bothered by injuries.  National Football League star Michael Vick is the new starting quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles in the ongoing NFL season. Vick threw for 175 yards and one touchdown and ran for 103 yards in relief of Kolb in a 27-20 season-opening loss to Green Bay Packers. He had 284 yards passing and two TDs in Sunday's win over Detroit. Kolb started two games in his first three seasons before he became the team's No. 1 quarterback after McNabb was traded to Washington. Kolb struggled in the first half against the Packers in the season opener. Vick's start against the Lions was his first in nearly four years. A three-time Pro Bowl pick during six seasons with the Falcons, Vick missed two seasons while serving an 18-month sentence in federal prison for his role in a dogfighting operation. He signed a two-year contract with the Eagles before last season, then played sparingly behind McNabb and Kolb. Vick has completed 63.8 percent of his passes and has posted consecutive games with a passer rating above 100 for only the second time in his career. The inspired and great plays of Vick makes the Eagles one of the top teams in the current NFL season. Limited playing for Yao in next NBA season
To ensure their superstar center will play the entire 82 games the Houston Rockets management has made the tough decision to limit the minutes of Yao Ming in the next season of the National Basketball Association. Rockets vice president and athletic trainer Keith Jones revealed Yao will only play a maximum of 24 minutes per game in the next NBA season. Jones said they made the decision to play Yao to only 24 minutes so that he can eventually play the entire NBA season. It can be recalled that Yao has missed at least part of each of the past five seasons because of bone-related injuries. Yao sat out last season after undergoing complex surgery on his left foot in July 2009. Team doctor Tom Clanton cleared Yao to resume basketball activities in August. The vice president said they can confident if they could keep his playing time at the minimum the stress on his bone problem will be reduced.  Houston Rockets superstar center Yao Ming will play limited minutes in the next National Basketball Association season. He said if Yao will be healthy all season long, they could increase his playing time when playoff time comes. The Rockets are in dire need to keep Yao all season long so that they can compete big against the rest of the NBA teams. If Yao can play all season-long chances are the Rockets will have a banner 2010-2011 NBA season. Despite quarterback lack Steelers defeat Titans 19-11
The Pittsburgh Steelers are in a roll in the current season of the National Football League. Despite lacking a reliable quarterback who will start for the team all-season long the Steelers still emerge victorious in their first two games of the young NFL season. Mike Tomlin's boys are in a winning streak as they defeated the favored Tennessee Titans at the home-floor of the latter 19-11 to take a 2-0 record in the 2010 NFL season. In the Steelers-Titans game, Steelers Antonio Brown scored on an 89-yard kickoff return to open the game, and the team forced seven turnovers in their victory against the Titans.  The Pittsburgh Steelers are on a roll in the current National Football League season. Tomlin is very happy with their victory since it came when the team are missing some of their top players. Left tackle Max Starks is injured, Byron Leftwich was cut to add depth on the defensive line and Dennis Dixon even hurt his left knee early and didn't return. Tomlin said needs Dixon to undergo some tests. Charlie Batch replaced Dixon, and Pittsburgh (2-0) was outgained 238-127 on offence. But the Steelers swarmed the Titans (1-1) to come up with four sacks and force the most turnovers by the Titans since 2000. Jeff Reed kicked four field goals off those turnovers. The Titans came in having won nine of 11 dating to last season. The team came up with four sacks and a turnover of their own. It just wasn't enough to overcome an offence that couldn't hold onto the ball. The losing NFL team had its most turnovers since also committing seven against Cleveland Browns 10 years ago. Tony Parker wants to stay with Spurs forever
TIME to rejoice for all the countless fans of the San Antonio Spurs in the National Basketball Association. Spurs superstar point-guard Tony Parker said he wants to remain with the team the rest of his NBA career once his six-year, $66 million contract ends in the next NBA season. Parker said there is no truth to reports that he had the intention to transfer to other NBA teams once his contract with the Spurs officially ends. After 6 yrs of waiting Storm finally nail 2nd WNBA crown
It is much sweeter the second time around. This is exactly the feeling felt by the Seattle Storm team after they finally won their second WNBA crown after six years of waiting. The Storm defeated the Atlanta Dream 87-84 in game three of their best of five WNBA finals to take the WNBA crown this year by a 3-0 sweep. Storm superstar center Lauren Jackson once again played big for her team in the series providing the needed scoring and defence for the WNBA Western Conference powerhouse team. In game three of their WNBA championship series, Jackson scored 15 points to be declared as the most valuable player (MVP) in the Finals Jackson earlier scored 26 points in game two to carry the Storm to a commanding 2-0 lead in the WNBA championship series.  The Seattle Storm is the champion in the WNBA for the second time since 2004. In game three of the Finals, the Dream lead by its star rookie Angel McCoughtry who scored 35 points started strong in the game. The very determined Dream almost defeated the Storm but in the end the experience and talent of the Storm eventually prevailed in the end. Jackson was very happy with their second championship since their initial WNBA crown in 2004. The Australian center said the second championship is much sweeter since they had been longing for it since 2004. He said the team will do their best to defend their crown in the next WNBA season. McCoughtry for her part is sad with their loss but promised the team will bounced back next year and take the crown away from the Storm.
