Ryan ready to lead Ducks to playoffs in next NHL season
The Anaheim Ducks is fully charge and focused on entering the playoffs in the forthcoming season of the National Hockey League. The Ducks is now in full-gear in their preparation for the next NHL season as they recently signed into a five-year contract American forward Bobby Ryan to a $25.5 million deal. With the new deal, Ryan will for the Ducks until 2014-15. The move to re-sign Ryan to a multi-year deal is laudable since Ryan had a great 2009 NHL season as he scored a career-high 61 points for the Ducks. No whipping boys anymore, Reds rekindle winning season in MLB
After years of being a whipping boys among the teams in Major League Baseball, the Cincinnati Reds finally achieve a winning year in the current season of the premier professional baseball league in the planet. Youth laden US basketball squad tops World Basketball Championship tournament
The much criticized and belittled United States basketball team is declared as champion in the just concluded World Basketball Championship in Istanbul, Turkey. The US squad known as the "B-Team" proved their critics wrong by winning the prestigious tournament over host and fellow unbeaten team Turkey in the championship round 81-64. Oklahoma Thunder superstar forward Kevin Durant played hero for the Americans as he scored 28 points in the game seven of from beyond the arc. Durant who had a brilliant game all throughout the tournament was also declared as the most valuable player (MVP) in the prestigious basketball event. Riley, Heat ready to show critics team is for real
Miami Heat president Pat Riley said the team is fully motivated to play hard and win games to show to their critics that they are for real both in papers and in the hard-court. Riley made the bold statement after newly acquired Heat forward former Cleveland Cavaliers superstar forward Lebron "King' James got a ton of criticism from various sectors for deciding to play for the Heat in the next National Basketball Association season. The Heat executive said the team is now fully motivated to play together and show the world that the decision of James to play for the team is a right move for the NBA superstar. He said the team still has a lot of things to work out in the NBA off-season but he is confident once the new NBA season opens the Heat will be a force to reckon with. Rookie running back ready to bring success for Bills in next NFL season
One of the top rookies in the recent National Football League has expressed confidence he cant help the Buffalo Bills in the next NFL season. Drafted as ninth overall by the Bills, running back CJ Spiller revealed he will do his best to play an active role for the team this year. With his great play in the pre-season NFL games, Bills coach Chan Gailey is giving Spiller the rare chance as a rookie to start for the team in their NFL season opening game against the Miami Dolphins this weekend.  Buffalo Bills rookie runningback CJ Spiller will carry the torch for the team in the next National Football League season. Gailey said being a starter as rookie is a huge challenge for Spiller but he is confident his heralded rookie can take on the role as he recently lead the team in scoring with three touchdowns in their pre-season games. He said due to the huge plays of Spiller, the team made the decision to put him as starter ahead of veterans Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch, who are both suffering from an injury. Both Jacksonand Lynch split the starting duties last year for the Bills. To beef up its roster, the Bills also earlier signed tight end DajLeon Farr to the practice squad and waived tight end Derek Schouman from injured reserve. Spiller is very happy with the chance to start for the Bills and vowed to play harder in order not to let down his team.
