Lackey's rude homecoming rewarded with victory for Red Sox 4-2 vs. Angels
His homecoming to his former team might be rude but John Lackey is still happy since the game results to the victory for the Boston Red Sox over arch-rival Los Angeles Angels.
Lackey who played eight years for the Angeles was welcomed with loud boos from the Angeles fans despite being a former member of the Major League Baseball franchise.
Despite the boos and jeer, Lackey still give his 100 percent effort to bring victory to the Sox over the Angels 4-2.
The veteran MLB pitcher gave up seven hits while pitching into the eighth inning to carry the Sox to victory against the determined Angels.
The strong game of Lackey is the usual game of the right handed pitcher, who won Game 7 of the 2002 World Series as a rookie on the same hill.
Major League Baseball superstar pitcher John Lackey.
Before deciding to play for the Red Sox to the tune of a five-year, $82.5 million deal, he lead the Angels to victory in 102 games.
Lackey felt sad and disappointed with the boos but accepted it since he believe it is part and parcel of being a part of MLB.
Jered Weaver, a former teammate of Lackey in the Angels roster also think what the fans did is not correct since the MLB veteran pitcher had played for the team for years.
The Red Sox have scored eight of their 11 runs after the sixth inning in the series’ first two games, and the Angels have wasted
solid starts by Dan Haren and Weaver (9-7), who allowed six hits in seven innings and struck out eight in his fourth loss in five starts.
The current MLB season proved to be exciting so make it a habit to watch the professional baseball games live.
