Jets seeks Owens to boost campaign in next NFL season
THE NEW York Jets is dead serious in its quest to take the Super Bowl crown in the next season of the National Football League. The Jets management is now doing its best to acquire former Buffalo Bills veteran wide receiver Terrell Owens to join its roster in the next NFL season. A six-time Pro Bowl selection, and former holder of the league single-game reception record, Owens has been one of the dominant receivers of his era. He holds or shares several NFL records, and his body of work has placed him in the top-10 in several receiving categories, including yards and touchdowns. Although the possibility of getting Owens is still a long shot at 20 percent, the Jets is trying its best to get him since he can boost the team's campaign in the next NFL season. A proven winner in his years in the NFL, the Jets is confident he can bring a lot of things to the franchise if they will succeed in getting him. Jets coach Rex Ryan is himself confident the team can acquire one of the most coveted NFL players today. Aside from the Jets, the Cincinnati Bengals are also doing efforts to acquire the services of Owens. To get the Owens, the Bengals are offering an incentive-laden contract. If by struck of Owens does choose the Bengals, he could be paired on the outside with Chad Ochocinco. Bengals coach Marvin Lewis has said recent acquisition Antonio Bryant could move into an inside slot position.
