The Belmont Stakes is a Stakes race which is an American Grade 1 race founded in the year of 1867. It has been held every month of the June at the Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. The Belmont Stakes also called the “Run for the Carnations” because the winner’s neck has covered with the blanket of white carnations. The very first Belmont Stakes has been held at the Jerome Park racetrack in the Bronx and it was continued at Jerome Park until the year of 1890.
